A 16 inch round top is a deliberate size. It is wide enough for a drink and a phone, or a small lamp with a narrow base, and it asks for almost no floor: 16 inches in each direction, most of it held off the ground by a cross base. The surprise in the filing is the weight. This small table weighs 46 lb, because the top and the base are both cut from heavy 3/8 inch plate glass. Set beside a sofa, it stays where it is placed; it is not a piece that skids when a sleeve brushes it.

Height is 22 inches, the level of a typical sofa arm, and floor clearance under the top is 21 inches. That clearance matters at this scale. A solid drum or block of the same diameter would read as a lump beside the seating; crossed glass panels leave the floor and the rug visible through the base, so the table occupies its corner lightly even though its material is dense. The published capacity is 94 lb, far past anything a 16 inch surface is asked to hold.

The round outline suits the spots a square table handles badly: the angle between a sofa end and a wall, the side of a reading chair turned toward a window, a tight corner in a bedroom. There are no corners to align, so the table can be turned at any angle and read correctly. The iridescent coating does the rest of the work in a small room, throwing a shifting color read off a surface that takes up very little space.

Plate Glass Construction From Top to Cross Base

The construction is tempered glass throughout the visible piece. The metallic surface coating that makes the glass iridescent produces a rainbow shimmer, and the shimmer varies according to light direction and viewing angle, so the small top changes tone as daylight moves across the room. Edges are machined with a safety bevel for smooth, durable surfaces, which is the edge treatment you feel every time a hand runs around the rim of the top. The base shape is filed as a subtle rounded rectangle under the round top, and the connection between top and base is made at the factory: the table arrives fully assembled with that connection secure. The features table in the filing also lists this table as commercial grade.

Glass Care on a Coated Surface

Wipe the glass with a soft cloth and glass cleaner, and keep abrasive pads and powders away from it. That restriction, carried from the filed care notes, protects the metallic coating that produces the iridescent effect. Nothing else on the table needs upkeep: there are no hinges, drawers or wood finishes in the piece, and the glides under the base are clear and non-marking as filed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Fomo small end table arrive assembled?

Yes. It arrives fully assembled in one box, shipping at 48 lb via Small Parcel, with a secure connection between the top and the base already made. There is no assembly step at home.

Why does a 16 inch table weigh 46 lb?

The weight comes from the material. Both the round top and the cross base are heavy 3/8 inch plate glass, so a compact footprint still carries the mass of thick glass in two planes.

How much can the Fomo small end table hold?

The published weight capacity is 94 lb. A lamp, books and drinks sit far below that figure, which is set by the plate glass construction rather than by the size of the top.

What warranty covers the Fomo small end table?

Coverage is a 1 year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, running from the date of delivery. The country of origin is listed as Imported, as published in the filing.

For a wider surface at the same sofa end, the fomo large end table in iridescent glass at 22 inches round is the larger sibling in this batch. Other pieces for this spot beside the seating sit in fomo iridescent glass accents for tight sofa sides at KF Rooms.
