Salado Natural Leather Panel Queen Bed

Safari soul, Italian hands

The Salado looks like it crossed a continent to reach your bedroom – safari-inspired lines, solid oak framing, and broad heirloom leather panels in Antigo Natural. Those panels come from a family-owned tannery in Bassano del Grappa, Italy, cut from upcycled hides with a buttery, lived-in finish. This isn’t new leather trying to look old; it’s leather with a past, and it gives the tall 54-inch headboard the presence of something collected rather than purchased.

Why leather belongs in a bedroom

The objection is fair – leather can read cold against bedding. The Salado answers it twice over. First, the heirloom finish is warm and matte, not glossy; it behaves like a rich textile, not a biker jacket. Second, the side rails are upholstered in performance fabric – 53% polyester, 30% acrylic, 17% flax/linen – so everywhere your body actually meets the frame is soft fabric, while the leather does its visual work from the headboard. Solid oak underneath keeps the whole 64.75-inch-wide frame rigid for decades, not seasons.

Best for

Best for bedrooms with a collected, traveled feel – the safari-oak-leather combination anchors eclectic, organic modern, and warm minimalist rooms the way a great vintage rug does. Give the 54-inch headboard a tall wall and let it be the art. Our upholstered beds carry the same statement-headboard energy in fabric; the full beds collection covers quieter profiles.

Frequently asked questions

Is the leather real?
Yes – genuine upcycled hides from a family-owned Italian tannery in Bassano del Grappa, finished to a buttery, lived-in hand. “Heirloom” refers to the sourcing and finish, not a faux treatment.

Will the leather panels scratch?
They’ll mark, and that’s the point: the lived-in finish absorbs small marks into its character instead of showing them against a perfect surface. It looks better at year five than at day one.

Does it need a box spring?
Not necessarily – it depends on your mattress warranty’s support requirements. Check the slat spacing against what your mattress maker demands; many modern mattresses are fine without one.

What sizes does the Salado come in?
The family spans Twin through California King. The queen is shown here at 64.75 inches wide with the 54-inch headboard.
