Montgomery Cream Channel-Tufted King Bed

The channeled headboard, done architecturally

Channel tufting usually whispers; the Montgomery’s shouts – vertically. Tall channels run the full height of the headboard, adding texture without pattern and catching light in a way flat upholstery never does. The headboard floats above a solid parawood plinth base, so the 46.5-inch height reads architectural rather than heavy – tailored presence for bedrooms that want a focal point with clean lines.

Why 50,000 rubs matters in cream

Cream is the color everyone loves and fears in equal measure. Thames Cream answers the fear with a 66% polyester, 19% acrylic, 15% flax/linen performance weave rated to 50,000 rubs – roughly double the residential standard. That’s contract-grade abrasion resistance, which means the light color is a design choice backed by engineering, not a leap of faith. The vertical channeling helps too: texture breaks up the surface so the eye reads depth, not dirt.

Frequently asked questions

Will the cream fabric show wear?
The 50,000 rub rating is the answer – it’s built to roughly double the normal residential standard, and the channeled texture visually breaks up the surface.

What’s the difference between the 46.5 and 60-inch headboards?
Presence. The 46.5-inch suits standard 8-foot ceilings; the 60-inch is for tall walls and grander proportions. Same bed, different scale.

Does the floating headboard feel sturdy?
Yes – “floating” describes the look, not the build. The solid parawood plinth base carries 550 lb and the slat-roll supports the mattress directly.

Is Thames Cream a true white?
No – it’s a warm cream, which is more forgiving than pure white and pairs better with natural woods like the parawood base.
