Mika 84-Inch Whitewashed Oak Trestle Table

The triangle that holds it all together

The Mika’s signature is structural honesty: a triangular stretcher spans the trestle base, turning an engineering necessity into the table’s best-looking feature. The geometry is crisp and architectural – rustic goes modern in one move. In whitewashed oak, the grain shows through softly, giving the 84-inch top a weathered lightness that suits rooms where heavy farmhouse would feel like a costume.

Trestle base, modern manners

Trestle tables have one great virtue: legroom. With the base pulled to the ends, all 84 inches of length are free – eight chairs slide in with no pedestal to negotiate and no corner legs boxing anyone in. The frame-and-panel construction keeps the long span rigid, and the triangular stretcher locks the two trestle ends against racking. Protective feet and leg levelers are included, because real floors are never perfect. At 36 inches deep, it’s narrower than standard – a better fit for rooms where 42 inches would crowd.

Best for

Best for narrower dining rooms that still need to seat eight – the 36-inch depth saves six inches over standard without giving up a single seat. The whitewashed oak suits coastal, Scandinavian, and modern farmhouse schemes. More trestle and farmhouse profiles among our dining tables; solid wood dining tables for heavier builds.

Frequently asked questions

Does a trestle table wobble?
Not this one – the triangular stretcher locks the base against racking, and frame-and-panel construction keeps the 84-inch span rigid.

What’s the advantage over four legs?
Legroom. Chairs slide in anywhere along the full length with no legs to work around – better for long dinners and bench seating.

Is 36 inches deep enough?
Yes for dining – it fits a dinner plate and glass comfortably. It’s serving-platter space you give up, not elbow room.

Will the whitewash yellow over time?
The finish is sealed; keep it out of all-day direct sun and it holds its tone. Damp-cloth cleaning is all it needs.
