Hawkins Leather Sofa in Cognac

Top-grain leather with a mid-century line

The Hawkins takes the mid-century sofa, high back, curved sloped arms, clean bench seat, and cuts it in 100% top-grain leather. The light vintage tan starts with a soft, broken-in feel and is designed to age: expect the tone to shift subtly and a patina to build with use.

Foam and fiber cushioning over S-spring suspension keeps the sit supportive rather than slouchy, and the solid red meranti and plywood frame gives the 83.5-inch form its structure. At 130.5 lbs, it is substantial without being immovable.

Why it works

Leather this characterful does the decorating for you: the cognac-tan tone warms modern rooms and flatters mid-century ones, and because it is top grain throughout, it improves with age instead of wearing out. The high back makes it the rare statement sofa that is also the best seat in the house.

Best for

Leather lovers, mid-century and collected interiors, and anyone who wants one enduring sofa that gets better every year.
