Potter Surrey Olive Upholstered King Bed

Olive is the new neutral

Grey had a decade; olive is having its moment, and the Potter shows why. Surrey Olive is a deep, velvety green with subtle highs and lows that shift as daylight moves across it – never flat, never loud. Against the tapered solid oak legs, it reads as quiet luxury: the color does the talking so the silhouette can stay calm. It’s the kind of green that makes brass lamps and cream bedding look intentional.

Velvet looks, performance underneath

The anxiety with anything velvety is real – crushing, pet hair, fading, those pale pressure marks where you lean. The Potter’s upholstery is a 76.8% cotton, 23.2% polyester performance fabric engineered for exactly those fears: spills bead instead of soaking, stains lift with basic care, and the pile resists crushing rather than recording every sit. You get the hand and light-play of velvet with the maintenance profile of a workhorse. The headboard cushioning is fixed – no shifting pads to straighten every morning – and the low-profile stance keeps the 55-inch headboard from looming over the room.

Frequently asked questions

Will it crush like real velvet?
Far less. The 23.2% polyester content is structural – it gives the pile memory, so pressure marks recover instead of setting. It reads as velvet to the eye and hand without velvet’s fragility.

How does it handle pet hair?
The tight performance weave releases hair with a lint roller or vacuum brush far more easily than cotton velvet. The olive tone also hides what darker fabrics would show.

Will the olive fade in sunlight?
The polyester component adds meaningful fade resistance over pure cotton velvet, but as with any rich color, keep it out of all-day direct sun to protect the depth.

Does it need a box spring?
No – the slatted base is included and suits most modern mattresses. Check your mattress warranty’s support rules to be certain.
